My Journey of Discovery

My name is Chuck Duff, and I know these challenges well - because I’ve been through it myself. I trained in the late 90’s as a Thai massage practitioner, and when I started out, I had mixed results. I quickly realized that the injury-focused medical model was a terrible framework for actually understanding how to help my clients.

It was disheartening to have to support my family while feeling that I wasn’t able to consistently help people in the ways that I had in mind when I changed careers.

When I started out, I was fed the same nonsense about nerve impingement, fake "-itis" diagnoses and IT band syndrome as everyone else.

The truth is, our medical system is stuck in the dark ages when it comes to understanding pain. Throw away the notion of "itis" and injury; these are just surface-level distractions. The real culprit? Muscles and the elusive trigger points within them.
